Aarushi Murder Case: Special Court Directs CBI to Give Closure Report
Legal News India: A special CBI court today, asked the investigation agency to handover a closure report copy of the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case to Rajesh and Nupur Talwar. The court also informed that the issue of closure will be heard on January 21, 2011.
While hearing the murder case, CBI counsel, R. K. Saini had opposed to Mr. Talwar’s appeal to get the closure report copy. The ground for objection was the fact that Mr. Talwar was arrested as an accused hence, he could not be held as a first informant.
Special CBI Judge Preeti Singh inquired from Saini about whether the CBI has filed a chargesheet. Saini replied that it was "up to the court" and that the court could reject the report or order further investigation of the case. He further said that in case the court felt that the murder case could be closed, it could issue a notice.
The Special Judge upheld that that the closure report copy should be given to Aarushi’s parents and posted the hearing to be held on January 21.
