Adarsh Housing Society Scam: Antony Seeks Inquiry

Indian Law News: Upset after hearing from former army chiefs that they had no idea about ownership and the history of the Adarsh Housing Society, Defence Minister Mr. AK Antony has requested the Army, the Directorate of Estates and the Navy to investigate the issue.

After identifying ‘criminal conspiracy’ around the Adarsh Housing Society, role of some senior Army officials, politicians and builders is under scrutiny. The land on which this multi-storied building in Colaba is situated, was under a ‘de-facto’ control of the Army. As the Army prepares to conduct a full fledged Court of Inquiry (CoI )into this matter, it will be looking at knowing how and when did the Army control this land and receive a go-ahead to construct the multi-storied structure.

The inquiry is expected to expose a lot of shady deals between Defense officers (serving and retired) and many other unnamed beneficiaries of the scam.
