Assassination of Jyoti Dey - A Death of Indian Democracy

The assassination of Jyoti Dey is one of the most tragic events of independent India. It shows that how powerful the criminal elements have become. When the senior crime reporters like Dey, can be killed inpublic places, in broad sunlight, then who would like be involved in honest journalism or crime eporting or the underworld?

The journalistic community was never given enough attention or protection, and now by this incident, a great fear has been installed among the fellow journalists. The catching and punishing of the culprits would not be enough to remove this fear; we need some fundamental change in our law and order situation.
