Russian Embassy Statement
An official Press Release issued by the Embassy of the Russian Federation by Alexander M. Kadakin, Russian Ambassador in India reiterates that Russia is a secular nation, it reads, “Russia, as it is known to anyone, is a secular and democratic country where all religions enjoy equal respect. Even more applicable it is to the holy scriptures of various faiths - whether it is the Bible, the Holy Quran, Torah, Avesta and, of course, Bhagavad-Gita -- the great source of wisdom for the people of India and the world.”
The Ambassador said that he was saddened by the fact that scrutiny of religious materials are taken to courts and instead should be reviewed by academicians and subject matter experts, he said, “For all believers these texts are sacred. Their academic scrutiny should be done at scientists’ fora, congresses, seminars, etc but not in courts”

Russian Human Rights

Human Rights Commissioner for Russia`s Tomsk region Nelly Krechetova at a blog posted on ISKCON’s site condemned the act of taking ‘Bhagwad Gita’ to the court and any such act to ban the book would amount to constitutional right to freedom of conscience. She said, “Firstly, I think of the very absurdity of the statement of question. This book is considered as sacred by almost a billion people around the world. In Russia "Bhagavad -Gita as it is" has been freely available for 20 years."

Hi,

The Russians are so proud of the Stonehenge at Arkaim —created by ancient Indian Maharishis
Why are they against the Bhagawat Gita ?
Punch into google search STONEHENGE OF RUSSIA- VADAKAYIL

..

It would be so very good for Indian Government to stay away from interfering in the case as it is about the judiciary of a sovereign nation.
