BJP Reacts to Reports from WikiLeaks on Modi

India Legal News: Subsequent to learning that Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) had plans of assassinating Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP, on Monday, blamed the US for “inaction on the issue”. The party also questioned the Government on how it intended to handle this issue.

BJP leader Balbir Punj said to reporters outside the Parliament, “It is a matter of serious concern. He (Modi) is the target of both - those who call themselves secular in this country and also from Pakistan agencies." “The US should have convened it (information) to India. There was total inaction on the part of the US even after having the information,” he said.

LeT’s plans of assassinating Modi was revealed by information on Wikileaks, from a covert State Department cable that dates back to June 19, 2009.
