CBI takes action in CWG scam

India Legal News: The Central Bureau of Investigation today registered two cases related to alleged irregularities during the Queen's Baton's Relay in London. Official sources have said that the two cases have been registered against London-based AM Films and AM Car, which had been given contracts for the Baton Relay.

Searches were conducted at CWG Organising Committee's office and at residences of some of its former officials. Searches were conducted at the residence of TS Darbari, joint director general of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, Sanjay Mahendroo, OC deputy director-general, and Raj Singh, a Director level officer in the OC.
 
The CWG scam has till date caused several heads to roll.Most significant  among them is of course Suresh Kalmadi who was sacked as the Secretary of the Congress Parliamentary party. 
 
Earlier there had been allegations by the media that contracts were awarded without tendering procedures or proper research for personal gain.
