Dear Sir,
We bought one house 16 years back. On the top our back side resident has one room and its window open on our side. The houses are wall to wall attached. I want to make a room on the roof and for that we have to close his window also. Can he oppose the construction of room. what is the law. Thanks.

You can close the window by prior sanction of a plan from the Local Municipality,if you would any problem in this regard then you may require to go to the Court.---------------------------Minansu Bhadra,Advocate

yeah suggestion give above are best....
first you may get the permission from local municipality and then ask your neighbor to close his window.......if he does not do that......file a case in court regarding permanent injunction.....to close his window.....
you didn't mention from how long ago this window is constructed...
