FIR Filed Against Shoaib Malik, Sania Mirza Asserts Marriage Will Take Place as Declared

On 5th April, more drama unfolded in the Shoaib-Sania marriage controversy as India’s tennis star, Sania asserted that their marriage would be solemnized on the announced date, namely, 15 April 2010. The Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik has been featuring in the news ever since his marriage with Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza was announced. The FIR against Shoaib Malik charges him with cruelty to wife, harassment, criminal intimidiation and cheating. Reports from the Pakistani foreign office indicate that the Pakistani High Commission is awaiting the details of the FIR that has been lodged against Shoaib Malik.

Ayesha Alleges Shoaib Malik Stayed at Her House

Ayesha Siddiqui, the woman who claims to be Shoaib’s first wife, added a new dimension to this by stating in her First Information Report filed on 5th April 2010 that she had stayed with Shoaib Malik for three days in Hyderabad at the Taj Hotel. She alleges that Shoaib Malik stayed in her house on every occasion that he visited Hyderabad. She categorically stated that she had attended several parties with ‘her husband’ and other cricketers.

Ayesha Alleges Shoaib Malik Offered $1 Million

Ayesha also alleges that she had become pregnant and had suffered miscarriage. Now, she alleges that he is denying his marriage with her altogether and trying to marry again without her consent and without acknowledging that he was married to her. Further, she alleges that Shoaib Malik threatened to kill her and her family members if she informed the media about the marriage. In her statement, she further alleged that Shoaib Malik had offered $1 million to keep their wedding a secret.

A copy of the nikahnama was attached to Ayesha’s complaint that she gave the police and it was signed by her.
