India Legal News: Vijay Mallya Files Case against Website Hackers

In August 2010, India legal news reports indicate that the well known business baron and Rajyasabha member, Vijay Mallya filed a complaint, alleging that his personal website www.mallyainparliament.in was hacked. According to Mallya’s complaint, this website was hacked by a group who call themselves as ‘Pakistan Cyber Army.’ The hackers damaged the contents of the website and left a Pakistani flag, with anti-Indian messages and threats on it.
Indian Legal News: Mallya’s Website Hacked, Case Registered
As per India legal news, Mallya’s complaint was filed by K. Majumder, a UB Group representative, on his behalf. The website of Mallya was created by the UB Group chief to address issues and grievances of the common man. The contents of the website were updated from Mallya’s office situated in Vijay Mallya Road.
The website was made by Marc Oliver Hausen, a technical professional, of Indian origin. He also maintains and reviews the functioning of the website. While conducting a routine check at 12: 15 a.m. on Independence Day, Marc found that the website’s contents were tampered.
Mr. Jagadeesh, Cubbon Park police inspector, confirmed that a case under the IT Act has been registered. It was stated that it will take around 15 days to track the hackers, with the help of the cyber police. The case has been registered at Cubbon Park police station in Bangalore, as the website was created and maintained in Bangalore. However, the original website was restored back on August 16, 2010, and is functioning normally.
