Indian Doctor Files Copyright Infringement Case Against German Publishers

Indian Legal News: A Mumbai based doctor has filed a suit in the Bombay High Court against a German publication firm Narayana Verlag GmbH. Dr. Mirza Anwar Baig, an allopath doctor has accused the firm for copying his work on treatment of AIDS and cancer and eventually selling via internet under the defendants’ brand name.
Justice S. C. Dharmadhikari, has issued a notice to the defendants and has kept the matter for hearing on November 16.
Dr. Baig has authored the book “Homo-Immunisation” (AIDS versus Cancer)” in 2000 and the research book deals with forms of treatment of deadly diseases like AIDS and cancer. Dr. Baig believes that viruses of cancer can cure AIDS and vice-versa. The doctor’s petition slates that he is trying to ‘asses the loss’ caused to him in form of ‘illegal sale of the book’.
