Jethmalani Offers To Defend Binayak Sen

Legal News India: Criminal lawyer Ram Jethmalani Tuesday offered to defend convicted human rights activist Binayak Sen in the Supreme Court. Sen, along with two others has been sentenced to life imprisonment for sedition.
While Jethmalani’s decision ruffled the BJP, the renowned lawyer said, “I do not believe in party line. No party line says that lawyers should not appear for some people.”
Jethmalani, who is known for having defended various infamous individuals like Harshad Mehta, the assassins of Indira Gandhi and Lalit Modi, added that “…the case is weak. I think Sen has been wrongly convicted."
