Legal Workshop Series: Inaugural Address by the President of India
On 31st July 2010, President Pratibha Patil made her inaugural address before an august gathering assembled at Vigyan Bhavan for the legal workshop sessions scheduled to begin as part of the All India Seminar on Judicial Reforms.
Legal Workshop Series: Simplify Court Procedures, Says President of India
At the legal workshop, President Pratibha Patil began by appreciating the presidential address of Justice S.H.Kapadia, the Chief Justice of India. She stated to the CJI, “Nice to hear your spirited speech.” Then, President Pratibha Patil expressed appreciation to Pravin H. Parekh, Senior Advocate, by calling him “the master of organizing ceremonies.”
The President of India spoke briefly about issues affecting the administration of justice. She stated, “Litigants are not able to lead normal lives.” She appreciated the initiatives taken by Justice S.H. Kapadia to improve the court infrastructure but suggested, gently, “We must simplify court procedures.” She stated that frequent tactics to get cases postponed make the process sluggish.” She pointed out, “litigation, being expensive, it becomes so difficult for litigants without legal aid.”
Legal Workshop Series: Simplify language of Law, Says President of India
At the legal workshop, President Patil stated, “I urge lawyers to bring positive reforms and invest efforts in providing legal aid.”
She further stated, “Archaic laws should be scrapped. Language of law should be made simpler and easier. Simplification of law is most essential.”
At this point, my heart was in my ears with joy, because simplification of laws lies at the crux of what we are doing at lawisgreek.com. Thank you, Madam President, because with this reiteration, I definitely believe that the success of lawisgreek.com lies in addressing and simplifying laws for the layperson.

Number of Courts, Judges, Investigating bodies shall be increased keeping in view, large number of pending cases.. or consumer forums shall be strengthened to reduce, stop a lot of economic crimes from happening.., Police accountability and ...expenditure on measures shall be a priority to reduce small crimes eg. chain snatching, Pickpocketing etc.. Because small crimes are basic institutes for learning and growth of bigger crimes..
measures could be like Metro in Delhi has done. Installing Security cameras at most of places in cities with a central vigilence. Start with Delhi, small in Area dense pupulation.. Daily more than 200 and more small criminal offences unreported..
A govt. secured web site to report such minor crimes involving up to Rs.10k of loots that people don't report to police..
At least Govt. controlling bodies will be aware of how much intensity of small crimes on daily basis in what areas..
