Mumbai HC Upholds Death Sentence for Kasab

Legal News India: The Mumbai High Court upheld the death penalty for Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab, the sole surviving terrorist of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The judges said that Kasab was guilty of multiple murders, conspiracy and of waging war against the Indian population. “The case was of extreme brutality. The crime was enormous and pre-planned. It was a threat to society,” said Judge Ranjana Desai and Judge Ranjit More while justifying the death sentence.

ajmal-kasab-mumbai-terror-attacksOver 300 were injured and 166 killed, when ten terrorists from Pakistan, including Kasab, attacked Mumbai. The Bombay High Court even said that Kasab could appeal to the Supreme Court of India and that he would be offered legal aid in case he chose to appeal.
