Nariman Supports Iyer in Demanding Probe into Balakrishnan’s Kin Wealth

Legal News India: Jurist Fali S Nariman openly endorsed ex-Supreme Court of India judge VR Krishna Iyer’s demand for investigating the allegations of accumulating wealth by the former Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan's kin. The allegations were directed against Balakrishnan’s son-in law, PV Sreenijan, and a few others.

Writing to Justice Krishna Iyer on December 28, jurist Nariman said, “Your prompt and pithily devastating remarks on the conduct of the NHRC Chairman (Balakrishnan) deserve several rounds of applause.”

Several other incidents of wealth accumulation by Balakrishnan’s kin had come to light. Balakrishnan’s brother and his wife allegedly possess 60 acres of land in Tamil Nadu.
