New Chief Election Commissioner of India Appointed

 India Legal News - The President has appointed Shri V.S. Sampath as the Chief Election Commissioner. Shri Sampath is the senior-most officer and he is likely to assume his duties as the new CEC (Chief Election Commissioner) wef 11th June, 2012. Presently the seat is being held by Dr. Shahabuddin Yaqoob Quraishi (65).
