refusal to accept inherited property

Dear Sir,
I am a 32 year old single woman. I am professionally well settled. I am the only child of my parents; hence from whatever I understand of Hindu law, I am the natural inheritor of my father's property. My mother is a housewife. Due to long term disagreements between myself and my father, I wish to legally give up all inheritance rights to my father's property. As per Hindu law, is there a provision to disown own's parent and/ or to give up inheritance rights? Kindly advise me on this; so that this can be legally conveyed to my father during his lifetime and he can accordingly distribute his wealth among whoever he wishes to.

You can verbally tell your father that you wish not to take anything in his property. Self acquired property devolves as per the will of the testator and if your father predeceases your mother intestate, you and your mother would inherit it equally being class 1 legal heirs.
