Shoaib Malik Marriage with Sania Mirza Wins NGO Support

Following the FIR filed against Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, the Pakistan High Commissioner in India assured him of full support. It is reported that Pakistani diplomats feel that he should be provided with consular assistance though he has not asked for it so far. The buzz is that the Pakistan High Commission may make a diplomatic note of protest to the Ministry of External Affairs in India against the seizure of Shoaib’s travel documents and passport.

Shoaib Malik Says Signature on Nikahnama is His Own But Alleges Deception and Forgery

Shoaib Malik acknowledged his signature on the nikahnama but he stated that his marriage to Ayesha Siddique was a forgery as it happened through deception.

Interestingly, an NGO called ‘The Save Indian Family Foundation’ has come out in support of Shoaib as they fight for harassed husbands. The NGO pointed out that marriage disputes were basically civil disputes that should be tried before a civil court and for the same reason, there is no requirement for the police to enter the picture simply because of Ayesha’s claims.

The NGO further stated that it is a regular habit for women to invoke cruelty for every petty issue that arise in a marriage.

Shoaib Malik and Sania Decide To Co-operate with the Police Investigation

On 5^th April, Shoaib Malik clearly stated that he will clear his name from this controversy and that he has no objections about the police questioning him or taking his passport away. Sania Mirza stated that she too wants to clear his name as they are both from respectable families and they want the police to investigate.
