Swamy Plea: P Chidambaram and Jt Secretary of Ministry of Finance Will be Examined
India Legal News: The 2G spectrum scam got murkier. A Delhi court in Patiala House has agreed Subramanian Swamy, Janata Party president’s complaint to depose as a witness against Home minister PC Chidambaram.
He will stand in the witness box on December 17, 2011 to not only examine P Chidambaram but has also secured to grill a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. A special CBI judge OP Saini however added that examination requests of some CBI officials and other public servants will be con considered only after analyzing the relevance of the testimony. Swamy has previously formally pleaded before the CBI court on September 14 and to name the home minister a co-accused, he then said in the complaint application, “Hence, as of now, I moved a fresh plea for summoning witnesses including myself and to make Chidambaram co-accused in the scam.” The Janta party head and a leading crusader against corruption Swamy had maintained that price allocation of 2G spectrum was not the telecom minister A Raja’s decision alone but a cabinet decision and Chidambaram too has received kickbacks. Swamy has maintained that the PM is clean.
Swamy is expected reveal some very secret documents to nail the then finance minister P Chidambaram and it also includes letters exchanged between him and the then telecom minister A Raja. In this video posted on June 9, 2011.
Swamy was heard saying “Raja jail ka undher, uske baad Kannimohzi chali gayi, thodi din me Chidambaram bhi jayega undhar, (that after Raja and Kamikozhi P Chidambaram should be next in the firing line, read jail)."
