Criminal Law Amendment Bill

Rape and sexual assault laws in India are ready to undergo a radical change with the Union Home Ministry proposing a Bill on the same. The Ministry intends to tighten the punishment for sexual predators by widening the scope of sexual assault to include other perverse sexual acts. These acts, under existing rape laws in the Indian Penal Code (IPC), do not accompany the same punishment as rape.
