Gay Human Rights Violations: Canada’s Blood Policy Bans Donations from Men

This policy was implemented as a preventive measure, due to a highly controversial ‘tainted- blood scandal’ that rocked the country in 1980. Over 20, 000 people contracted HIV and Hepatitis C due to infected blood transfusion that was conducted by the Red Cross Society. Thousands of innocent lives were lost due to failure oto screen the contaminated blood.
