Religious Conflicts and Forced Conversions

You all know that India is a secular country where each citizen possesses the right to practice his/her religion freely and without restraint. There are many individuals who chose to convert to another religion because they believe in the religion. However, due to India's religious diversity, conflicts arise between religious groups now and then. One such sensitive issue is forced conversion. For a layperson's reference, forced conversion refers to instances when an individual is forced to convert to another religion because of greed, temptation, pressure or threat. Many times, forced conversions also happen when a couple in love belong to two different religions and one feels 'forced' to convert for the sake of acceptance and recognition by the other partner's family and community.
