The US has conducted in-depth research to understand cyber crime trends and evolve cyber crimes laws accordingly. In May 2000, the Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC) was created by the FBI, and the national White Collar Crime Center, which is basically a Congress-funded, non-profit organization. It functions as a comprehensive repository of complaints pertaining to Internet fraud and trends relating to it.

Cyber crimes laws mean serious business because laws cannot remain indifferent to the remarkable developments on the Internet. Every day,  more crimes are being committed online. Across the world, different countries are in the process of developing cyber crime laws to successfully prosecute those who perpetrate computer related crimes.
