Euthanasia Pros and Cons –III

The controversy surrounding Euthanasia ethics revealed itself again on April 04, 2008 when Dilip Machua, a slag picker from Jamshedpur, sent his euthanasia petition to the Indian President, Pratibha Patil. Machua had been unable to earn his livelihood following an accident that damaged his spinal cord that left him paralyzed waist down. As a result, he could neither move nor stand.

Hence, Machua, through his petition, requested either government support for his treatment or allow him euthanasia.
