Legal Workshop Series: CJI Ushers in New Frontiers of Statistical Analysis

On 31st July 2010, Justice S.H. Kapadia, the Chief Justice of India made the presidential address before the distinguished audience at the legal workshop series held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Before he began, P.H.Parekh, the President of the Indian Confederation of Bar, gave the audience a brief introduction, stating, “The CJI is a role model for the lawyers and law students of India. Our CJI talks less and does more. About 14 topics for the working sessions of this seminar were selected under his guidance.”

Legal Workshop Series: Inaugural Session of All India Seminar on Judicial Reforms

On 31st July 2010, for once, the rains nearly spoiled it.

With much excitement and anticipation, I waited for the inaugural session of the All India Seminar on Judicial Reforms (Balance Sheet of 60 years of the administration of Justice under the Indian Constitution 1950 – 2010) to begin. The venue is Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. A legal workshop like this cannot be missed as it touches varied facets of Indian law.

India Law News: Justice S.H. Kapadia Sworn in as India's 38th CJI

Justice S H Kapadia began his career as an advocate at the Bombay bar in 1974. In 1991, he was elevated as a judge to the Bombay High Court. Today, he has sworn in as the country’s 38th CJI (Chief Justice of India), thereby occupying the country’s highest judicial office. He will take the place of Justice KG Balakrishnan who retired as the CJI on 11th May, 2010.
