Legal workshop

On 31st July 2010, President Pratibha Patil inaugurated the legal workshop sessions scheduled to begin as part of the All India Seminar on Judicial Reforms.

The purpose of the sessions was to educate and interact with members of the legal community, comprising lawyers and students about domain-specific expertise in the field of law. Though it is not possible to cover all working sessions, lawyers and law students attended as many as possible by attending an hour or two of every session but spending more time on domains that were of interest or of unique value.

On 31st July 2010, a distinguished audience had gathered to attend the legal workshop series held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Mr. Gopal Subramanium, the Solicitor General of India & Chairman of the Bar Council of India, addressed the audience briefly. Seated on the dais, there was President Pratibha Patil, Justice S.H. Kapadia, the Chief Justice of India, Harish Salve, Sr Advocate, Pravin H. Parekh, Sr Advocate and President of Confederation of Indian Bar, and Ravindra Shrivastava, the Vice President, Confederation of Indian Bar.

On 31^st July 2010, Pravin H. Parekh, Senior Advocate and President of Confederation of Indian Bar, addressed the august gathering assembled at Vigyan Bhavan for the legal workshop inauguration of the All India Seminar on Judicial Reforms.

On 31^st July 2010, Justice S.H. Kapadia, the Chief Justice of India made the presidential address before the distinguished audience at the legal workshop series held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. Before he began, P.H.Parekh, the President of the Indian Confederation of Bar, gave the audience a brief introduction, stating, “The CJI is a role model for the lawyers and law students of India. Our CJI talks less and does more. About 14 topics for the working sessions of this seminar were selected under his guidance.”

On 31^st July 2010, Harish Salve began the opening session of the legal workshop series held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The name, Harish Salve, needs no formal introduction for such has been his brilliance, fame and success as a lawyer.

On 31^st July 2010, for once, the rains nearly spoiled it.

With much excitement and anticipation, I waited for the inaugural session of the All India Seminar on Judicial Reforms (Balance Sheet of 60 years of the administration of Justice under the Indian Constitution 1950 – 2010) to begin. The venue is Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. A legal workshop like this cannot be missed as it touches varied facets of Indian law.
