Known as the world’s ‘hottest’ sports league, the IPL is no longer a sophisticated version of an all-boys cricket club, nor is it just about the entertaining game of cricket. The IPL sparked debate when it began commercializing the brand value of individual players across the globe so that their value multiplied many times over through auctions.
