On 6th April, 2010, the Kerala High Court dismissed a revision petition that challenged the cancellation of bail of five accused persons who had allegedly circulated copies of a book that contained blasphemous statements about Prophet Mohammed.

The province of Quebec has begun a series of measures to curb religious displays. On 24^th March, 2010, Quebec introduced a legislation that makes it mandatory for people to show their faces in order to receive government services. Although this legislation is meant to cover Muslim women in particular, it refrains from stating so specifically.
