National Human Rights Commission

After retiring from the post of the Chief Justice of India on May 12, 2010, Konakuppakatil Gopinathan Balakrishnan has been appointed to the post of chairman of National Human Rights Commission. This post remained vacant for the past 1 year, after the retirement of Justice S. Rajendra Babu in May, 2009. Now, Justice KG Balakrishnan will become the 6^th chairperson in the list of National Human Rights Commission’s chairpersons.
